Humana Military will present the Down Home BBQ to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation, Tuesday, March 21, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Gheens Foundation Building at the Parklands, 1421 Beckley Creek Parkway.
The event will feature live Bluegrass music by the Whiskey Bent Valley Boys and a barbecue dinner provided by Mark’s Feed Store. There also will be a cash bar. Attire for the evening is Bluegrass casual. The emcee for the evening will be WDRB-TV news anchor Elizabeth Woolsey.
There will be a silent auction, with proceeds to benefit the NAVY SEAL FOUNDATION.
Tickets are $100 per person, or $900 for a 10-person table. The event is limited to 300 tickets.
A VIP reception will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with the Gold Star parents of Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Aaron Vaughn, who was killed in action when his Chinook helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan in 2011. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Tickets for the reception are $100 each.
